Featuring 36 paintings from Singapore’s renowned artist, Allen Tang
SINGAPORE, 2 July 2018 – Edmund Tie & Company (ET&Co) is pleased to announce its appointment as art auctioneer for Allen Tang, renowned oil and acrylic painting artist for his upcoming art auction on Sunday, 29 July 2018, 2pm to 5pm, at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre. Prior to the art auction, there will also be a preview on Saturday 28 July 2018 from 10am to 6pm and Sunday 29 July 2018 from 9am to 1pm. Prices of the art pieces range from $6,000 to $60,000. This art preview and auction is organised by the Singapore Chinese Academy.
Born in Singapore in 1957, Tang has held many personal art exhibitions and charity auctions in countries such as Singapore, France and China. Personally, Tang prizes his exquisite and refined paintings as a reflection of his state of mind and experiences he had in life. The artist will feature 36 varied styles of paintings at this auction.
Tang quipped that “the ideations for the art pieces are very different at various points of (my) life”. This is evident through his diverse aesthetical concepts. The themes of his art pieces range from the self-confidence of “Conquering” to the romance of “Purple Wind Speed”. Regardless of the themes, he felt that “each piece of art emanates a strong sense of passion, determination and ambition”.
Head of Auction & Sales, Joy Tan, commented: “We are excited to partner with Allen Tang, a Singaporean renowned artist, to auction off his beautiful oil and acrylic paintings. This art auction is part of Edmund Tie & Company’s endeavour to be client-centric as many property buyers also purchase art pieces either as an investment or to enjoy in their homes, or both. Allen’s art pieces have even attracted international celebrities who purchased them as part of their collections. This art auction is an example of how we continuously innovate our business to provide various value-adding services to our clients. We hope that this is just the start of other kinds of auctions to come.”
As auction is a transparent and efficient way to transact, ET&Co had in the past auctioned various assets including cars, jewellery, watches, yacht, liquor and tobacco. The auction of Allen Tang’s beautiful artwork is yet another testimony of auction as an alternative avenue for sale and purchase of assets.
